rick nelson-news

Rick Nelson’s broadcasting career spans 40 years having worked in Ontario radio markets including Toronto, Ottawa, Kingston, North Bay and Sudbury.  Most of those postings were for Top 40/Classic Rock/Oldies shows but reading the news was a job requirement when necessary which has come in handy for Wawa. He’s a major history buff, news & political junkie. Rick grew up in Prince Edward County and studied radio/television/journalism at Loyalist College in Belleville during the mid 1970’s.  A father of two grown up daughters, he has lived in Northern Ontario for several years with a camp on Manitoulin Island.
