Wawa's receiving major federal support for waterfront upgrades.
A release from the Federal Economic Development Initiative for Northern Ontario - FedNor - says it is providing the Municipality of Wawa $723,500 to "implement its Boreal Forest Eco-Walk and Waterfront Rejuvenation project to help increase local tourism and foster business opportunities and development along the beach and downtown areas".
Work has already begun on the waterfront project, expected to continue in 2019.
