Progress Continues on Michipicoten Memorial Community Centre Repairs

Substantial progress has been made on emergency repairs at the Michipicoten Memorial Community Centre.

Approved by the previous Wawa Municipal Council last August, the more than $100,000 in repairs centered on problems with the arena's dry spinkler system, the failure of a hot water tank, and consistent problems with the elevator.

Community Services and Tourism Director Alex Patterson told the current Council during last night's Corporate Planning Committee meeting that most of that work is now complete, with much of the hot water repairs completed as of Tuesday.

As for the elevator, Patterson says the work should be done soon.

Patterson says the sprinkler repairs have already been completed.
