The local English Catholic school board's warning it will close schools next week, during a one day strike.
Already conducting an "administrative job action" campaign, the Ontario English Catholic Teachers' Association says it will hold a province-wide strike next Tuesday, January 21st, and the Huron-Superior Catholic District School Board says that means about 45% of its permanent employees will be walking off the job, so classes and transportation are cancelled for the day.
While the schools will be closed to students, the board does expect its non-striking employees to work normal hours that day.
