Public Health Sudbury and Districts is reporting two more COVID-19-related deaths at a retirement home in the midst of an outbreak.
The health unit says the deaths - its fourth and fifth since the pandemic began - relate to the outbreak at the Amberwood Suites retirement home in Greater Sudbury, though both died in hospital.
Another resident of the facility died Friday, the first death for the health unit since May.
Meanwhile, PHSD's reporting three new cases in Greater Sudbury - bringing the total to 390, including 62 "active" - while declaring three new outbreaks in Greater Sudbury: at Ecole St-Denis, the Elizabeth Centre, and Extendicare Falconbridge.
Algoma Public Health's reporting two new cases in the Sault Ste. Marie area - bringing the health unit to 142, 37 "active" including one in hospital - with the Algoma District School Board confirming an individual associated with R-M Moore Public School in the Sault tested positive, though it says the health unit's contacted anyone considered a close contact and all contacts in this scenario are "low risk".
The Thunder Bay District Health Unit - which confirmed three more COVID-19-related deaths over the weekend - is reporting four new cases in the Thunder Bay area, all stemming from close contact with a known case.
The health unit has reported 732 cases, 75 currently "active", including three in hospital, one in the ICU.
The Porcupine Health Unit isn't reporting any new cases, though it still has 15 "active".
