Wawa's Michipicoten Memorial Community Centre is closing its doors over the holidays - because of stricter COVID restrictions.
Citing Algoma Public Health's decision to extend mandatory measures to all Algoma communities - as well as advice from district health professionals, regional, provincial, and federal agencies - the Municipality says it has decided to "exercise an abundance of caution" by closing the facility until 6 am on January 3rd, adding it will be in contact with user groups to review the health unit's orders and instructions to formulate a safe reopening plan for January 2022.
