APH Reports 35th COVID-19 Death, PHSD 110th Death

More COVID-19 deaths have been confirmed in the region.

Algoma Public Health reported its 35th death from the illness on Friday - two days after its 34th - though it gave no further details.

It also reported a 42 new cases in the Sault Ste. Marie area, five in Central and East Algoma, and three in the Elliot Lake area, leaving it with 604 known "active" cases - plus three "non-resident cases temporarily in Algoma" - with eleven cases in hospital.

Public Health Sudbury and Districts reported its 110th death from the illness on Friday - two days after its 109th - with figures showing it was the 100th death in Greater Sudbury.

The health unit also added 106 new cases in Greater Sudbury, thirteen in the Sudbury District, and four in the Manitoulin District, leaving it with 492 "active" - including six in the northern Sudbury District, which includes Chapleau, Cartier, Foleyet, Gogama, and neighbouring First Nations - while 63 cases are in hospital, eight in ICUs.
