Charges Laid Over Break-In & Other Incident in Wawa

Charges have been laid over a pair of incidents in Wawa.

Superior East Ontario Provincial Police say they were notified of a break-and-enter to a Third Avenue residence late Friday morning, leading to the arrest of a 67-year-old Wawa resident on a charge of break, enter a dwelling house.

He was released from custody with a July court date, but - shortly before 6 Saturday night - officers on general patrol on Broadway Avenue observed him breaching release conditions, leading to his arrest on charges of obstruct peace officer and failure to comply with release order.

The accused has been remanded into custody, pending a bail hearing.
