The Wawa area's seen another forest fire.
Ontario's Ministry of Natural Resources says "Wawa 3" was reported Wednesday, located on the end of a peninsula on the right side of Koandowango Lake - about 3 kilometres south of Caramat - though it was already "being held" by the evening.
It was one of only three wildfires still burning in the northeast as of Wednesday evening, along with "Wawa 2" - located about half a kilometre west of Highway 17 and about 7 kilometres northeast of Pokei Lake, or about 10 north of Obatanga Provincial Park - which is also considered "being held", though it did grow from 6 to 8.2 hectares in size.
The fire hazard's low for areas north and west of Sudbury, or moderate to high for those south and east of Sudbury.
