An incumbent councillor's the fifth candidate for Wawa's four Council seats.
The Municipality of Wawa's now showing councillor Cathy Cannon's seeking her second full term - she was appointed to Council in October 2021 and elected for her first full term in 2022.
While Mayor Melanie Pilon's seeking re-election, Cannon's the first current councillor to file a bid, but joins Shah Mohamed, Jason North, Eric Paquette, and Brandon Smit in the race for one of four seats on Council, which means residents will likely need to cast ballots this fall.
There is still more than a month for candidates to file for Ontario's fall municipal elections - the deadline's 2 pm August 21st - with candidate certification to happen after that.
