Chapleau's mayor is optimistic as he heads to a major conference this weekend.
Mayor Ryan Bignucolo explains he will attend the Association of Municipalities of Ontario conference.
Bignucolo says a section of the downtown corridor - Yonge to Lorne - needs to be replaced for downtown revitalization, acknowledging there is funding for the surface but there's no point in doing that without first replacing the pipes.
The mayor also plans to talk with the government about housing.
Mayor Bignucolo emphasizes the importance of discussions on options.
The AMO conference runs Sunday through Wednesday.
