Chapleau Council Loosens Skateboarding Ban

Rules for skateboarding are loosening in Chapleau.
Council's approved a revised by-law regarding skateboards, in-line skates, rollerskate, and "other conveniences drawn, propelled, or driven by any kind of muscular power" - such as scooters - ending the ban on their use on local streets by allowing them in neighbourhoods or on small volume roads.
Mayor Michael Levesque outlines exceptions where skateboarding will still be prohibited - all "high volume" or high traffic areas.

Mayor Levesque notes items such as ramps are still banned from local streets and sidewalks, but reminds that tricks using ramps can still be done at the local skatepark, which will continue to be maintained.
