The search for a missing boater near Hornepayne has ended in tragedy.
Superior East Ontario Provincial Police say they have recovered the body of 31-year-old Benjamin Mackay of Sault Ste. Marie.
Police started searching for Mackay shortly after 10 o'clock Tuesday morning, with an extensive search of Obakamiga Lake in Cholette Township assisted by an OPP helicopter as well as several family members and friends.
Mackay's body was discovered around 5:30 Wednesday evening.
No further details have been given.
