Kitchener Man Faces 21 Charges After Traffic Stop Near Wawa

21 charges have been laid against a Southern Ontario man after a traffic stop near Wawa.

Superior East Ontario Provincial Police say an officer conducting traffic enforcement on Highway 17 in Dambrossio Township around 9:50 am Sunday morning stopped an SUV after observing it travelling at a high rate of speed.

According to police, further investigation revealed the driver was breaching numerous conditions, leading to the 29-year-old Kitchener man's arrest on eleven counts of fail to comply with recognizance, eight counts of possession of firearm or ammunition contrary to a prohibition order, and two of unauthorized possession of weapon.

He was remanded into custody for a bail hearing in Sault Ste. Marie today.
