APH Confirms 42nd COVID-19 Case

Another COVID-19 case has been reported in Algoma.

Algoma Public Health says its 42nd case is located in the Sault Ste. Marie area and stems from close contact with a known case - they're self-isolating after they were tested Sunday.

This leaves Algoma with three "active" cases, all in the Sault area.

This comes as Public Health Sudbury and Districts has declared a COVID-19 outbreak at a Greater Sudbury high school, which has seen three cases - the health unit reported five new cases over the weekend, for a total of 123 - eleven of which are "active", all in Greater Sudbury.

Meanwhile, the neighbouring Porcupine Health Unit confirmed its 94th and 95th cases, both in the Hearst and Hornepayne area - it has eight "active", including four in the Hearst and Hornepayne area and two self-isolating outside of its region - and the Thunder Bay District Health Unit confirmed four, all in the Thunder Bay area - it has reported 114, four of which are "active".
