Chapleau's COVID-19 Assessment Centre are reminding of updating testing guidelines.
While guidelines previously recommended low risk or asymptomatic individuals should be tested, the centre notes the province updated guidelines a month ago, only recommending testing if you are: showing COVID-19 symptoms; have been exposed to a confirmed case according to your health unit or the COVID Alert app; a resident or worker in a setting with a confirmed COVID-19 outbreak; or eligible for testing as part of a targeted initiative by the Ministries of Health or Long-Term Care.
The centre works by appointment only - phone lines are open at 705-864-2568 between 8:30 am and 5 pm Monday to Friday, though appointments are booked between 12 noon and 4 pm Monday to Thursday or 9 am to 1 pm Friday.
