Lady Dunn Health Centre Loosening Visiting Restrictions

Wawa's Lady Dunn Health Centre is "cautiously" loosening visitation restrictions.

Citing recent changes announced by the provincial government, the hospital says it is "cautiously" reopening general visitation to its Acute and Long-Term Care units immediately, allowing fully vaccinated visitors who've completed required testing to visit between 8 am and 8 pm, though they'll have to undergo screening and follow measures such as hand hygiene and wearing a surgical mask.

Children under 5 years of age will be allowed, and while they won't be required to show proof of vaccination - no vaccine's been approved for that age range at this time - they will need COVID-19 testing prior to entry.

Social absences for long-term care residents and acute care ALC patients are now permitted, while exceptions to the visitation policy for palliative care will be allowed for emergency or compassionate reasons.
