Impaired and careless driving charges have been laid after a two-vehicle collision on the Harbour Road in Wawa.
Superior East OPP say they attended the scene around 5:40 pm Wednesday evening, determining a male driver had been drinking - the driver then registered a "fail" on an approved screening device and the 30-year-old from Michipicoten First Nation was taken to the Wawa detachment for further testing, leading to charges of operation while impaired - blood alcohol concentration 80 plus, operation while impaired - alcohol, and careless driving, with a court date in September.
OPP remind no amount of alcohol or drugs is safe to have in your system while driving, urging anyone who suspects an impaired driver on roads, waterways, or trails to "make the call" to 9-1-1, as "your phone call could save someone's life".
