Wawa was visited by a runner heading across Canada - and cleaning up along the way.

Sward says he's supported by Canadians everywhere - with people inviting him into their homes or buying him meals - but emphasizes he most wants to encourage people to clean up their community and keep Canada clean.

After reaching Wawa on Tuesday, Sward's continuing toward Sault Ste. Marie, averaging around 40 to 50 kilometres a day - his journey can be followed at "Million Bottle Pledge" on Facebook, where he noted in a post on Tuesday that it has been "slow going south of town" due to "lots of roadside trash...such as styrofoam and plastics that fall out of the work trucks" on the way to the landfill but "the incredible amount of intentional litter of plastic bottles and tin cans is a bit disappointing", as he picked up "over 225...in a 5 kilometre stretch".
