No injuries have been reported after a fire at Alamos Gold's Island Gold Mine.
A statement from Environmental Superintendent Nish Logeswaran says "a small fire occurred underground" around 3:30 Monday afternoon, but "was rapidly extinguished" and "no personnel were injured".
He adds that "all underground personnel were safely evacuated to the surface" and the night shift still proceeded "as regularly scheduled".
